Jimmy Fallon Fights for 'Saved by the Bell' Reunion
The Zack pack is back!
In the early '90s, Saved by the Bell was the show every kid watched, and Bayside was what every school should've been like. The teachers were push-overs, everyone was beautiful, and school was only in session for half an hour a day. And now, the stars of the teen sitcom are back and ready to revisit the glory days.
Jimmy Fallon, apparently a rabid fan, has been pushing hard lately to organize a reunion. Mark-Paul Gosselaar even showed up to Fallon's Late-Night show, completely in character as Zack Morris, and claimed he's ready for it.
But now it looks like People magazine beat Fallon to the punch. The Saved by the Bell folks grace the new cover, and inside they chat about everything from relationships to hair-dos.
"I liked my hair long because I wanted to look like Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon," said Mario Lopez, AKA A.C. Slater. "I didn't even know I had a mullet! Looking back, I guess it does qualify."
Mark-Paul Gosselaar, however, confessed there was more going on backstage than just hair and makeup. "All of us dated at one point or another," he said. "It was incestuous!"
Well, that's not exactly how I remembered High School. But hopefully this get-together stays just a reunion. At 35, Screech is a bit old to play the pubescent nerd.
