John Mayer Understands Why Miley Cyrus Quit Twitter
But John's not going anywhere fast
John Mayer has taken it upon himself to explain why he thinks Miley Cyrus has quit Twitter. He does quite a good job for those of us who miss seeing her crazy updates on the micro-blogging website. But he also assures us that he's not leaving Twitter any time soon.
We love John Mayer's Twittering almost as much as we love Miley Cyrus' Twittering, so we're glad he's sticking around. But we still don't fully understand why Miley Cyrus decided to shut down her account, despite the rap video she made and the explanation she gave.
John Mayer tries to explain it to us: "I think she's smart enough to realize there is some interference of the brain that she doesn't want to deal with. Artists have enough to deal with... She's a child, she's a fantastic artist - I think there's enough mental real estate being taken up by dealing with all of that stuff..."
We suppose that's true. We probably don't fully understand because we're adults, we're not crazy famous, and we think we could handle it. John continues explaining why he can handle it, "For whatever reason, I am old enough and smart enough to tell someone to go f--- themselves if they tell me to go f--- myself. I think if you're in Miley's situation, it might take a little too much time to play goalie for your own heart and mind. So I totally get it."
Then John totally puts the whole situation in perspective, "Imagine Shannon Doherty with a Twitter account, back in the 90210 days. That would've just flat-out killed her." Oof, John makes a really good point there. We guess celebrities really do have enough to deal with.
But in case you're still not convinced that Jon Mayer will be staying on Twitter, he really clarifies it for us: I would rather tell the world to eat my a--hole before I would delete my Twitter account." Wow. The thing is, we wouldn't put it past Jon Mayer to say that to the world!
