John Stamos Victim of Extortion Plot
Busted!
I just don't get how people think they can pull this off and get away with it. But it makes me wonder how often they do get away with it. A pair of blackmailers just recently tried to get money from John Stamos by claiming they had compromising photos of him. But of course they got caught in action.
Poor Uncle Jessie! That's how we know and love him of course; from the hit 90s show Full House. After meeting Allison Cross and Scott Sippola at a party in 2004, John and Allison continued to communicate via email. Well, Allison and Scott must have been getting pretty desperate for money now and decided John Stamos would be a good target. Come on, that's the best you can do?
Scott Sippola e-mailed John in November and asked for $680,000 for the four photos that would allegedly cause harm to John's reputation and Cross admitted she was in on it too. So, John Stamos did what any sane person involved in an extortion plot would do. He called the FBI. From there, a time was set up to meet with the criminals and exchange the money. And then the criminals were nabbed.
Did they really think John Stamos would give them $680,000? Does John Stamos even have $680,000 anymore? What has he really done since Full House besides a Lifetime movie here and there? Well, he's currently in the Broadway revival of Bye Bye Birdie, so at least he's working.
Upon investigation of Cross and Sippola's home, three photos of Stamos turned up, along with paperwork including his cell phone number and the numbers for three tabloid magazines. This is probably why celebrities don't generally like talking to "normal" people. On the other hand, now we really want to know what John was doing in the alleged photos!
Other celebrities recently involved in extortion cases include David Letterman, John Travolta, and Sarah Jessica Parker.
