Jon Gosselin Offending Some Jews

Jon Gosselin's "I'm half Jewish" comment rubbing some devout Jewish people the wrong way.

The Jewish Journal has published an article rebutting Jon Gosselin's "I'm now half Jewish and half Korean" comment, questioning his morals and his devotion to Hebrew practice.

Jon gave an interview to AOL's Parent Dish early this week, stating that his relationship with Hailey Glassman was so happy that he's taken on her family's Jewish practices. Gosselin said he celebrated Yom Kippur and Rosh Hoshannah and will combine his Christmas celebration with festivities for Hanukkah. "My inner circle is Jewish," Gosselin said. "I only care what they think."

While his interest in the faith seems almost commendable, his casual attitude toward its practices treats Judaism like a joke. Gosselin said he'll have a hard time giving up bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches -- a breakfast the Jewish Journal reponded "there is never really a good time for" -- and when he commented that Jewish family values are fantastic, the Jewish Journal replied that perhaps Jon is not the best judge of family values.
