Jon Gosselin's Lawyer: Jon Drew the Ratings

Why did you watch Jon and Kate Plus 8? Was it for Jon? Kate? Or wait, maybe it was for the eight absolutely adorable little kids, right? Well, Jon Gosselin's lawyer is arguing that it was Jon who brought all the ratings for the show. Sure, he did.

I remember a time when everyone hated Kate Gosselin and thought Jon was a poor, tortured man. And then one day we all woke up and realized that Jon Gosselin is a complete douche and Kate was simply doing the best she could to handle him. But Jon's lawyer Mark Heller is convinced Jon and Kate Plus 8 did as well as it did because of Jon.

Heller says, "The show is based on female demographics... You have housewives watching. They want to see what Jon Gosselin is going to do next. They don't care about Kate that much... She is not the ratings draw he is." Um, really? Housewives like Jon? Maybe once upon a time, but these days, I'm pretty sure most housewives are simply disgusted by Jon.

And Heller just doesn't get why they don't bring Jon and Kate Plus 8 back; once Jon meets a settlement with TLC, of course. He says, "We may have a settlement proposal in the next week or two... It doesn't make sense to litigate this case. Jon & Kate made $186 million last year for Discovery... It shocks me that they don't try and get this thing back on the air."

They won't be bringing it back on the air because that would mean they'd have to work with Jon Gosselin again. And that is something that nobody wants to do.
