Jon and Kate Gosselin's Old House is Still for Sale
Maybe people believe their marriage will be cursed if they move into the Gosselin's old house, where the show Jon and Kate Plus 8 began. It's no secret their marriage is currently falling apart, but did it all the trouble start at their old Elizabethtown, PA, residence?
It's a 5-bedroom, 2 1/2-bath house and is going for $320,000. But it's been on the market for over 89 days now and it's just not selling. Sure, the housing market isn't the best right now, but maybe it's just that nobody wants to live where Jon and Kate Gosselin and their brood of 8 were living.
The suburban neighborhood is family friendly and though the houses are built close together, there is room for the kids to play. Neighbors say the area has gotten a lot more peaceful since Jon and Kate left. One said, "Fans were dangerous, fans were always coming right up to their house... I'd stand outside with my phone staring at the door like I was calling the police... It was making it a very, very dangerous neighborhood. You don't know who [was] in those cars." But now the curious fans are gone.
If you watch the television show, you already know pretty much every inch of their house and that could be weird for a new resident. Can you imagine hanging out in the basement where Jon and Kate did their confessionals (and Kate yelled at Jon a lot)? Or sleeping in their old bedroom? It would just be strange.
When you've watched a marriage fall apart in a house, chances are not very high you'll want to move yourself and your family into the house. Jon and Kate and the kids now live in a $1.1 million 6,000-square-foot home in Wernersville, PA, which gives them a lot more privacy. But they're still waiting to sell that old house.
