Justin Bieber Loses Twitter Trending Topic Status

Justin Bieber has been a fixture when it comes to Twitter trending topics for some time now. No matter what has been going on in the world, Justin Bieber's name appeared as a Twitter trending topic. Until now. Twitter has updated their trending algorithm and Justin is not happy about it.

Can you blame him? What a testament to Justin Bieber's fame to have his name showing up on the list of Twitter trending topics on a daily basis. But Twitter felt it was high time to change its algorithm in order to show us trending topics that are the most current most-talked about topics. In the past, it was simply topics that have been popular for a while or on a daily basis, much like Justin Bieber.

It makes sense. After all, we want to see topics trending that are things we should be paying immediate attention to. Justin Bieber is talked about non-stop every day and just because his name is on there, doesn't mean anything is currently happening with him.

In a tweet that later disappeared, Justin said to Twitter executives, "I heard you changed your system to stop my fans from making trending topics?? Really?? Where is the love??" They responded by saying, "@justinbieber the TT tweak is nothing personal. It was long planned & better shows what is emerging right now" and directing him to information about their new algorithm.

But fans are retaliating by spelling his name different ways to get him back on the list. They're using words like "Twieber" and "Jieber" and it seems to be working. And Justin wrote on his Twitter account, "and yes i see what all u fans are doing. like i tell everyone. i have the best most loyal smartest and dedicated fans in the world. I love u," which we're assuming is in response to their attempts. You know how Justin Bieber fans do!
