Kara DioGuardi Understands Adam Lambert's ABC Ban
But she still loves Adam
Kara DioGuardi is one the judges who made it possible for Adam Lambert to make it to the final 2 on American Idol. And if you had asked her at the time, she probably would have said he should have won the whole thing. So, why is she saying she understands why Adam's getting banned from so many television shows lately?
Lots of us are confused as to why so many big ABC television shows are dropping Adam Lambert's performance from their line-ups. We get that they're scared, but do they really think Adam is going to do something outrageous again (and thus ruin his entire career?). Though Kara Dioguardi loves Adam, she is able to help us understand why ABC is being so cautious; because she gets it.
She says, "We're living in a pretty bad economic time, so they have to do what they have to do to keep their advertisers... Networks are doing what they think their viewers want and don't want, so it's just budgetary." We guess it makes sense; when times are tough economically, you have to be so careful. But after all this hoopla, viewership would probably shoot up a ton if a show booked Adam Lambert. People are dying to see how he'll act during his next performance!
Even though Kara understands why ABC is doesn't want Adam to perform on their network, she actually didn't see anything wrong with his AMA performance. She says, "We always know he's going to shock us, right?... He's going to wow us and give us the unexpected, and that's his thing...That's what we look for." Yes, and that's what we love about Adam Lambert. We hope he's allowed to come back to television soon!
