Kate Gosselin Tries To Be Green
You Might Be Surprised
While Jon and Kate Gosselin are fighting off the tabloids (and paparazzi), their attempts at going green might be overshadowed. Here's what the experts have to say about the Gosselins' eco-friendliness.
Some TV critics have applauded the Gosselin family for their efforts, which included making a special Earth Day episode in which Kate Gosselin learned about energy efficiency. Snow Green, a green-living expert, said that "This woman not only raises a family of eight kids — she also recycles, she buys organic food whenever possible, she buys local food whenever possible and she's overcome a lot of the obstacles a lot of people are still tripping on."
However, one blogger wrote on Treehugger.com that "The most green families are those with one child or none. So this family has absorbed the CARBON FOOTPRINT OF 8 FAMILIES. This is very greedy!!!" and while it might sound extreme, Rosamund McDougall, policy director of the U.K.-based Optimum Population Organization, brought up a similar point. McDougall stated that "In the long term, though, it is almost impossible for large families not to increase overall environmental impacts," and that "you see only too clearly how the impact multiplies over time" when comparing carbon-dioxide emissions.

Do you believe that the Gosselins can be green?
Jon and his wife Kate Gosselin have been in the news recently because Kate went on vacation, showing off her bikini body, with the kids and without Jon. Here are some shots from her time away.
