Kate Gosselin's Interview With Natalie Morales
Kate Gosselin revealed she's still waiting for the old Jon.
The media is abuzz today with the latest on the Gosselin saga: Kate's interview with the Today show's Natalie Morales that aired Monday night on TLC. Kate gave what appeared to be her most open interview yet, finally admitting that if she could quit Jon & Kate Plus 8, she would...and that there's still a part of her that loves estranged husband Jon.
"A part of me always will [love Jon]," Kate Gosselin told Natalie Morales. "It's hard to to be married to somebody for 10 years and try to say 'No, I don't love them anymore.' It doesn't work really well. I love the memories that we have together." Nearly crying, she also said, "I still wake up every day and I think the phone will ring and it'll be ... the old Jon."
She said the turn from happy to miserable in their marriage happened quickly; that they were on a plane one day and Kate looked at Jon and thought, "'We're not going to recover from this.' I looked at him and he looked at me, and we were completely different people. I think somewhere down the line his goals changed ... and they felt detrimental to me and the kids." Kate also confessed that her reputation as a controlling wife and mom were to blame: "I was wrong to treat [Jon] that way."
Kate Gosselin said that she signed up for a reality television show, but not to be a tabloid staple...and, at this point, it's too late to turn back. "At this point, I can't go back ... I signed up for a reality show, I didn't sign up to be a tabloid staple. If I said I was done and it was enough, it would just be five more covers of why it is that I'm done, and so I would be living that for a period of time essentially with no income, with no job."
As if Kate Gosselin's pain couldn't get any worse, her children's former caregiver passed away last week.Check out these videos for Kate Gosselin's interview with Nancy Morales.
