She changes her hair.

Kate Gosselin ditched the angry possum and went for long locks in 2010... that was a questionable decision at best, mostly because the outline of her "real hair" is far too visible to blend in. So sad. At least Kate decided with her hairstylist that a major chop was in order. We can breathe easy!

If you've forgotten the particulars on Kate's extensioned 'do, we don't blame you. She first got the longer-style locks through a collaboration with Ted Gibson and PEOPLE mag, who reported that these would cost $7,000 if she were to pay out of pocket.

Either it was the price tag ("free" can equal "beware") for Kate or just really bad extensions, but Gosselin soon has a rat's nest of evil, angry hair on her head, of which she was not proud, judging from the number of baseball caps she shoved on her head.

Before Kate went for a night on the town, Ted Gibson says that he spruced up her style.

"She came in because her own hair has grown," he said, "so we changed the length. Now we thought shoulder length would be ideal-we wanted it to be straight, and sexy and moving."

It definitely did look better as Kate went to Butter and Spin in downtown New York, and Gibson said that she likes it a lot more.

"She's ecstatic about the way the extensions look," Gibson said. We took off about four inches, close to that. That's one great thing about extensions-she can go back to having it long again, whenever she wants. She can keep changing."

Do you prefer Kate's look now, or would you like her to scrap the extensions altogether? There are also more pics here.

I really like her new hair! I like it a lot better than her signature cut
