Bill Hudson Reveals "I love Kate, but… She has done stuff which is just awful"

Tell-all celebrity books sell like botox during Oscar season and it's no surprise that so many family members end up dishing the dirt on their more famous relatives. The latest person guilty of stocking up shelves is Kate Hudson's dad a.k.a Goldie Hawn's ex-husband, Bill Hudson.

Bill Hudson married Goldie Hawn in 1976 and the couple had Kate and brother Oliver before divorcing in 1980. After the relationship with Bill ended, Hawn found partner Kurt Russell, and together they raised her kids.

When Hawn moved on to Russell, Bill moved on to Laverne & Shirley star Cindy Williams, and it seems that he also bad-mouths her in his memoirs. But despite his high-profile marriages and offspring, Bill has never really received much media attention, perhaps because nobody cares what he has to say.

The book is titled So You Are A Star: Coming to Terms with Fame, Infatuation, and Family, which sounds like it belong in the self-help section. It will hit stands on November 1, 2011, and the publication's website teases “Life in the spotlight is not without its consequences, and the Hudson family was no exception. While enjoying success as a part of the 1970s musical group The Hudson Brothers, Bill Hudson fell in love and married actress Goldie Hawn.

“After their divorce, Bill found himself in the middle of the controversial issue of parental alienation. His rights as a father to see his children were often played out in the media because Oliver and Kate became actors themselves.”

The book goes on to divulge nasty bits of information about Kate -- like the "fact" that she has alienated her dying grandma, who is battling Alzheimer’s disease.

“Kate doesn’t have to talk to me and she doesn’t have to give her a dime of her millions. All I want is for her to call and say, ‘Hi grandma’, before it’s too late,” Bill said. “I love Kate, but… She has done stuff which is just awful. She is a spoiled brat in my eyes and at the end of the day, she should meet her little sister. I should meet my grandchild and she should help her grandmother.” [Note to Bill: Kate has two kids now so that would be grandchildren.]

As a mom of newborn baby Bing and 7 year-old Ryder, Kate has a lot on her plate and, let's face it, there's probably a good reason why she considers Kurt Russell to be more of a grandpa to Bing than Bill. That aside, will you read the book?
