Katharine Hamnett Launches 'Save the Sea' Swimwear
We're happy to help
Somebody knows good timing when she sees it. Katharine Hamnett her collection of swimwear for Yoox.com called Save the Sea. And everyone knows our seas need saving right now, with the recent oil spills. The swimwear benefits a great cause. And luckily, they're cute too!
A percentage of sales from the Save the Sea designs are actually going to benefit Farmers in West Africa, which is also a cause we're happy to get behind. According to a statement by Hamnett, "I have called this collection Save the Sea, as the sea that we all love is dying due to the impact of human activities such as oil spill, sewage dumping, industrial pollution, agriculture chemical fertilizers and pesticide run-off, lack of fish stock management, over fishing [and] pirate fishing, which can possibly lead to the extinction of species."
We've said it a million times before, but we absolutely love when fashion goes to a greater cause. Let us buy something super cute that is going to help our environment and we're all for it.
The swimwear is all adorable too. Designs we would buy even if they weren't for such a great cause. From retro polka dot bathing suits to flowy beach dress, and zip-up rompers, and t-shirts, towels, and totes that say "Save the Sea," we're loving the collection. There's even a line for men!
All of the items in the collection run from $58-$185 and they're made from ethically sourced sustainable fabrics.
