Kathryn Bigelow: What's Next for 'The Hurt Locker' Director?
Bigelow has first TV pilot and a feature film on tap.
Whether or not Kathryn Bigelow snags the Best Director Academy Award for The Hurt Locker on Sunday, she's a Hollywood woman in great demand. Here are the two projects Bigelow, 58, has lined up -- if they're half as amazing at The Hurt Locker, she'll definitely remain on radar.
Kathryn Bigelow is set to direct a pilot for HBO that's expected to begin filming in late spring. The Miraculous Year would be a series about "a New York family as seen through the lens of a charismatic, self-destructive Broadway composer," says Hollywood Reporter. Feature writer and theater veteran John Logan (Any Given Sunday) will pen the script and co-exec produce with Bigelow and Lydia Pilcher.
Kathryn Bigelow has also climbed on board to direct the South American feature film Triple Frontier. Atlats Entertainment will produce and Paramount will distribute the film, which is said to be an action-packed adventure story set in Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil.
Even with the controversy surrounding The Hurt Locker, we're pleased there's no shortage of female attention at the Academy Awards this year. If Kathryn Bigelow wins as Best Director on Sunday, she'll be the first female to earn the award. Stay with LimeLife for all your Oscar coverage, as well as your favorite celeb photos!
