Kathy Griffin Will Televise Her Pap Smear
Please don't make us watch
Oh come on, Kathy Griffin. Stop trying to be Katie Couric or Tyra Banks. We guess we understand what Kathy Griffin is trying to do: encourage women to get pap smears. Or maybe she's just trying to get herself some extra attention. You never really know with her.
Remember when Tyra Banks televised the first on-air colonic? Women are always talking about colonics and she wanted to show us what they're really all about. And Katie Couric is known for televising the colonoscopy. She wants to get word out about how important colonoscopies are for preventing colon cancer. Kathy Griffin will now televise the pap smear on her show My Life on the D-List.
Maybe I'm totally wrong here, but haven't most girls gotten a pap smear at one point or another? Even if they're not smart about getting it done annually, they should know what it's like and know that they're supposed to be getting one. What kind of awareness is Kathy Griffin trying to help us out with here? There's not a whole lot of mystery to the pap smear and we're not sure how many girls are too "scared" to get one.
Never the less, Kathy Griffin is doing it. According to a source from Bravo, "On Friday, April 16th, she will receive this important test in hopes that every woman will see how easy it is to get this done. She will receive this test poolside at the Palomar Hotel, located at 10740 Wilshire Blvd. in Westwood by a veteran medical physician at 12pm. This is will be taped for her hit reality show My life on the D-List."
Who really wants to watch Kathy Griffin get a pap smear? Um, not us! To make matters worse, the source continues, "Kathy feels that this cause is so important that she has bedazzled her 'va-jay-jay,"'so it can be as ‘va-beautiful' as it ‘va-can." Wait. Are we actually going to have to look at it?
OK, we'll give Kathy a little bit of credit. If she helps convince even one lady to get a pap smear, she's doing her job. Pap smears really are important for screening cervical cancer. The source says, "Kathy's goal is to get the word out about women's health. She wants to say 'Suck it to Cancer' and educate women all across the world about keeping their bodies healthy and of course inform them about when they should be getting their checkups."
We'll accept it, but that doesn't mean we're going to watch it! Will you be watching?
