Katie Confesses Passion for Princess' Fashion

Just as Princess Catherine wowed at Wimbledon in a slinky, strappy dress over the weekend, Katie Holmes held her own court on a red carpet. That's where, for the first time, Holmes confessed her royal obsession to reporters, revealing what she thinks of Princess Catherine's elegant style. Is Holmes trying to copy Kate the Great's look?

Just a month ago we observed the undeniable paunch that Katie Holmes, 32, sported during a mom's day out in Los Angeles...was she pregnant? But Holmes quickly fought the fat with an amped-up gym routine, and we have no doubt she took some of Princess Catherine's diet inspiration and cut carbs quick for a fast, lean look.

That's what Holmes debuted last week during a beach vacation in Miami with daughter Suri to visit Tom Cruise while he filmed Rock of Ages...but when Holmes hit the red carpet for her new flick Are You Afraid of the Dark? at the Los Angeles Film Festival Sunday, she was the one who was rocking.

Holmes showed off sexy elegance in a navy Contrarian New York dress that was all business in front and pleasure in the back. As both she and Princess Catherine were snapped in back-baring dresses and blown-out brunette 'dos this weekend, reporters asked Holmes how inspired she is by Catherine's refined but beautiful style. "I love both [Kate's and Pippa's] style," Holmes gushed, adding that she thinks Britain's best known sisters "are incredible. I'm so happy for Kate," Holmes said of the newly-married Duchess of Cambridge. "I wish them the best!"
