The U.K. branch of OK! magazine reported that Katie Price has inspired women in Britain to use the "gender excuse," which basically means they say "I can't; I'm a girl!" Disgusted yet?
OK! reports that MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk conducted a poll after Katie Price called herself a "woman driver" (meaning a bad driver), and the results are eye-opening.
"Of the women that took part, 88 per cent admitted to having used their sex as an excuse or avoidance measure in the past; with just over half, 52 per cent, claiming to do so regularly," OK! stated.
Some of the top things that women used the "girl excuse" for were: catching insects, carrying heavy objects, opening jars, and avoiding confrontation. Interestingly, 52% of those polled did not think the excuses were "demeaning" to women.

This scares me as an individual, troubles me as a woman, and infuriates me as a feminist. Shall I spit out some buzz words? Glass ceiling! Sexism! Stereotypes! Then again, I have to remember that the site featuring the poll might influence results a tad... it's not as if the questionnaire was featured in Newsweek or Vanity Fair.
Oh, and Katie? Shut up... just shut up.
