Katy Perry on "Sesame Street": fun or just weird?

We love music artists who are predictable in a fun way, which is why we couldn't resist this story on Katy Perry appearing on "Sesame Street." Could this be two of our favorite entertainers of all time on one screen?! Or has Katy Perry gone over the top in this one?

We weren't exactly aware that Katy Perry's audience consisted of preschoolers...the whole "I Kissed a Girl" thing, you know, seems to be a little too PG-13 for three-year-olds, no? But "Sesame Street" producers saw something in Katy Perry and cast her for this special guest apperance in which she tries desperately to convince Elmo to do something wild with his birthday suit...seriously!

Poor Katy Perry's getting slammed for her foray into kiddy TV, not just because of the odd fit but also because, well, this performance is wacky. Perry's all big eyes and taped-down boobs and cartoonish melodrama, and even with her "Sesame Street"-style parody of "Hot N Cold," Elmo wants nothing to do with her.
