Katy Perry Switches It Up

Katy Perry recently rocked some very sweet eyeliner while posing with Adam Lambert, but it wasn't the usual smokey eye thing that she had going on. Instead, Katy Perry was switching things up with a bright-eyes addition that's great for opening up the eyes in a flash.

Her trick? Katy Perry used a daub of white to brighten things up, and paired her look with a shimmery shadow for a real pop. This is one perfect look for those of us who hate the eye-shrinking powers of a smokey eye, and are instead looking for something that lightens and brightens.

This can be an easy look to overdo, particularly in the case of white eyeliner and bright shadow application! Unlike dark colors, you don't get much room for error when it comes to applying your makeup carefully and steadily. It doesn't blend in, it stands out.

Besides that white pencil that will look perfect on your lash line at the bottom, you can get a great look like Katie's with a lush pair of faux eyelashes. After you apply them, be sure to go over your lash line for a smoother, more seamless look for the evening. I'm a huge fan of Wet 'n' Wild's simple white eyeliner, if you want to save on a beauty item.

What do you think of Katy Perry's look? Would you try it?
