Keds Teams Up With 'alice + olivia' for Sequined Sneakers

Remember those Keds you used to wear when you were 6 years old? Well, suddenly they're cool again. But get your hands on them while you can because the Keds collaboration with alice + olivia is for a limited time only.

Keds have come to be known as the first sneaker. Many sneakers have ome along since and many people left Keds in the dust, saying they weren't fashionable enough and just a little bit too boring. But now that they're teaming up with alice + olivia, Keds are going to be anything but boring!

The Keds by alice + olivia are set to launch in Neiman Marcus stores and on the Alice + Olivia website this spring. alice + olivia founder, Stacey Bendet, has taken the classic Keds style, Champion silhouette, and adorned them with sequins. The shoes will come in black, silver, pale pink, and safari green; and are expected to cost $88.

Bendet has been a long-time Keds fan and says, "I don't think I removed Keds from my feet as a kid! I can't even count how many pairs I had... We decided to do a collaboration that would bring a little alice + olivia fun to the 2010 Keds Champion, with what else but some fun colored sequins!"

Keds have always been known for their fun, laid-back styles and alice + olivia definitely seems like a natural collaboration. They're keeping the sneakers super fun, but adding a modern touch to them. According to the president of Keds, "alice + olivia was a natural partner for Keds as both brands embody a playful, fun and optimistic lifestyle. It is through this shared spirit that alice + olivia created these new styles. Stacey is helping us to take the blank canvas of the world's first sneaker to the next level -- making it contemporary, modern and fun."

The sneakers will look adorable with anything from jeans to a dress and I cannot wait to get my hands on them!
