Kelly Ripa To Produce New Sitcom With Hubby
Uh oh! Technically, She'll Be His Boss...
Because when you think of Kelly Ripa, you think, "There's a woman with some time on her hands." Well, she's about to get even busier. It's just been announced the mother of three who co-anchors Live with Kelly and Michael will also be producing a new ABC sitcom as a starring vehicle for her hubby, Mark Consuelos.
According to Deadline, Consuelos will play a handyman from Queens, who, with his son, becomes part of a non-traditional family unit on Manhattan's posh Upper West Side. Hmmm, we're smelling more than a dash of Who's the Boss? here...and we're liking it!
But it sounds like Ripa won't be cast in the Judith Light role...or any major role, for that matter. In the past, she's said the idea of working fulltime alongside Mark in front of the camera probably isn't a good idea. Before Michael Strahan was announced as her new morning co-host, Ripa explained why the seat next to her wouldn't be filled by her spouse.

"No one would make me happier than Mark," she noted. "But he values our marriage and he says that he doesn't see how we could stay married and both do that show."
Still, that's not to say she won't pop up now and again in a guest-starring role. Right? We'll keep our fingers crossed, but in the meantime, sexy Consuelos is more than enough reason for us to tune in!
