The announcement was made during the Backstreet Boys performance at London's O2 arena -- check out the video below for the big news.
Backstreet Boys have been touring with New Kids On The Block in a mega-boyband-combo-extravaganza billed as NKOTBSB.
Brian Littrell, Nick Carter, AJ McLean and Howie Dorough announced their return to London in the summer to record their eighth album, with Richardson returning to the group again.
Richardson left the band in 2006 to "move on with the next chapter" in his life
and has returned a few times for performances, but this is his official return to BSB.
That wasn't the only exciting Backstreet Boys news -- McLean shared with the crowd that he and wife Rochelle Deanna Karidis are expecting their first child together.

McLean said, "I just wanted to say thank you guys for all your love and support. We recently got married -- I was the most recent Backstreet Boy to take the plunge. Because we love you all so much, we wanted to share with you, for the first time, something very special. We're having a baby!"
