Robert Pattinson Recruited to Scientology, Enquirer "Reports"

When gossip about Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's cheating scandal starts to dry up ... there's always room for a Scientology rumor.

The latest buzz is that Kirstie Alley tried to recruit Pattinson to join the Church of Scientology.

This little gem comes courtesy of the National Enquirer, because, really, who else would know such things?

The Enquirer claims that since Tom Cruise's divorce has caused such an embarrassment to the church, they're looking to Pattinson to become the new face of Scientology.

Insiders tell the tabloid that Alley is "spearheading the efforts to lure" Pattinson into the religion, with the actress having even visited his home.

The source tells the Enquirer, "I didn't get a good look at the driver except that I noticed that the person had a lot of hair -- so it was probably female."

Snort.

A Scientology observer tells the tab that Pattinson has the goods for the religion: "He's young, he's talented and he's got a lot of money. Rob's like a young Tom Cruise. He would appeal to younger people in a way that older celebrities, such as Cruise and John Travolta, might not."

Yep, looks like we're running a quart low on Pattinson buzz, so why not throw Scientology into the mix?

GossipCop.com reports that several sources say the Enquirer buzz is "100% false," with a friend of Alley's noting she's been in Maine and wasn't even in California to go knocking on Pattinson's door.

Why is it that Scientology always seems to recruit these borderline gay closet cases, e.g., Travolta, Cruise, and now Pattinson? What does that religion hope to gain by attempting to force guys to be something other than what they are? So sad.

Ummmm!!! Agreed with you Pete!! Its the main problem of this culture, yes it is sad to say and hear it at the same time, but its also true as well.
