Kristen Stewart: Chris Weitz Was Perfect for 'New Moon'
Dream director?
Though New Moon seemed to get a lot of flack from the critics, the fans absolutely loved it. Chris Weitz responded to the criticism by saying they made New Moon for the fans anyway. Do you think he did a good job directing it? Kristen Stewart does!
We understand where some of the harsher New Moon critiques came from. The movie was a lot different than the first Twilight movie and that is obviously in part due to the fact the director was different.
But from everything we've heard from the New Moon actors, Chris Weitz was an amazing director and they're so happy they were able to work with him. According to Kristen Stewart, "I think, to be a good director, you have to be a good person and you have to care about people. And I don't know a more compassionate human being. I couldn't have done this unless I had such a believable, comfortable, safe environment to be so vulnerable in - and he provided that, tenfold."
.
Awww, we knew we liked Chris Weitz and Kristen is totally solidifying it for us here. We don't know a whole lot about movie directing, but it seems that Chris had a unique and very helpful way of running things. Kristen says, "Chris did a very different thing that I've never had a director do. He put together a syllabus of what we were supposed to achieve and how he was going to make it easier for everyone - sort of an introduction to how he likes to work. It not only introduced the idea of collaboration but said, 'Please, everyone, love it and be invested and work hard.'" He also helped the actors in terms of special effects and let them know what was going on and what was going to be going on in the scenes where special effects would be occurring.
He sounds like the dream director for many actors and actresses. What did you think of the way he directed New Moon? David Slade is the director for the third Twilight movie, Eclipse, but there's talk of bringing Chris Weitz back for Breaking Dawn. Good idea?
