Here comes the bride?

Short and strapless isn't exactly what you think of when you think of wedding gowns. Then again, wedding gowns aren't what you think of when you think of awards shows. But despite the fact that she's 42 years old, we often look to Kristin Chenoweth to dictate what's in in current fashion. And Kristin is bringing short, strapless bridal to the red carpet!

Do you ever look at Kristin Chenoweth and think she looks about 22 years old. She just has a young look to her. Plus, she's always dressed impeccably. And while it would normally annoy us that a 40-something woman is dressing like a 20-something, it just works for Kristin. That's because she dresses like a totally sophisticated, fun 20-something and most definitely makes it work. And she's always doing something new and innovative.

At last night's Creative Arts Emmys (presented in recognition of technical and other similar achievements in television), Kristin looked perfect. She was wearing a bright blue, strapless Matthew Christopher Couture dress.

We love the dress, but does it look a little bit familiar to you? It's actually a modified and dyed bridal gown from Matthew Christopher's 2010 bridal collection. Wow! Women do go crazy over bridal gowns, so it makes sense we'd want to wear them even when we're not getting married.

.

We cannot get over this! Could modified and dyed bridal gowns be the fashion trend of the future? We can see women modifying their own gowns (since when are they going to wear them again?) or purchasing wedding dresses from older collections and modifying and dying them.

Kristin Chenoweth does it again! Do you love the short, strapless modified wedding dress? Check out pur photos of Kristin and other celebrities on the red carpet!
