LA schools official slams Bruno for photo with footballers
A high-level Los Angeles schools official has slammed photographs of Sacha Baron Cohen in Bruno character with high-school football players at a San Fernando Valley school. Ramon Cortines, Los Angeles Superintendent, says the schools district "has allowed our students to be used".
Cortines slammed the use of the school's name, Birmingham High, saying it violated policy on use of names. He also said that he had taken steps to punish the school's principal and athletic director without giving details. The shots appeared on the cover of GQ and show Bruno in a faux footballer get-up of tight red shorts, shoulder pad and midriff exposed with typically attired footballers. Bruno is the Austrian gay fashionista character Cohen has concocted for his latest movie currently being promoted around the world. Like Cohen's last movie character, Borat, Bruno takes a hefty swipe at cherished American icons.
