Lost star Dominic Monaghan is set to join a new ABC show called FlashForward later this year. The 32-year-old actor is best known for his role as hobbit Merry in The Lord of the Rings film series and as musician Charlie in ABC show Lost.

There were rumours that he would be appearing in a show for the network after he appeared in a promo campaign, despite the fact his character in Lost had been killed off. His new show FlashForward will be executively produced by David S. Goyer, Brannon Braga, Marc Guggenheim and Jessika Borsiczky Goyer. It is set to start on September 24, and Monaghan will be joined by stars such as John Cho, Jack Davenport and Peyton List. The show is about the aftermath of a global event where everyone blacks out for two minutes and 17 seconds and have visions of six months into the future.
