Lady Gaga Isn't Enticed By the Fame Monster
Nobody likes monsters
We obviously know that Lady Gaga is a bit different. She's not quite like all the other celebrities we see out and about on the "scene" every night of the week. She claims it's because she doesn't really like the Hollywood lifestyle. And we kind of love her just a little bit more for that.
Though her upcoming album is titled The Fame Monster, that doesn't necessarily mean Lady Gaga likes that monster. She recently told MTV, "To be totally honest, I don't really have any celebrity friends, I don't know anybody, and I'm not enticed by that lifestyle." Though we do see her hanging around with the epitome of celebrity, Perez Hilton, quite a bit (he calls her wifey), it's true we don't often see her gallivanting with other celebrities.
She actually sometimes wishes she could go back to the past, saying, "If anything, getting back to my record [The Fame Monster], I miss the past, and I've had to mourn the past and try to find a place for myself that isn't the past." Clearly, Gaga isn't a big fan of the fame monster that came her way.
And Lady Gaga is determined not to let the fame take over her life in a negative way. She says, "[I also want something that] isn't this Hollywood kind of future that we imagine all pop stars go to... I have to find my own space. I try to reject all of that. I try to stay internal and just focus on myself."
Sometimes when she's covered in all those ridiculous costumes, we don't really know what to think of Lady Gaga. So we're glad to hear her speaking up and actually coming off as pretty normal. It definitely helps us to appreciate her much better and maybe even understand her a little bit more. Could her costumes simply be some kind of a cover-up? In any event, we can't wait to hear The Fame Monster when it's released in just a couple weeks!
