Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett to Record Album Together
Gaga Is Heading Into the Studio With an Unlikely Partner - Tony Bennett
Lady Gaga's Little Monsters are about to have their horizons expanded as she and singing legend Tony Bennett collaborate again - this time on a full album.
Gaga, 24, and Bennett, 88, first made beautiful music together last year when they did a cover of the famous show tune "The Lady is a Tramp." Now, the pair, who appeared together onstage at President Barack Obama's second Inaugural Ball earlier this week, are moving forward on making an entire album together.
In fact, Bennett has said that he's already lined up the musicians that will play along with them. How did this all come about? The 16-time Grammy award winner explains; "Of all things, Gaga called from from New Zealand and said, 'I want to do a jazz album with you' and I said 'You got it,'" Bennett told reporters.
The jazz man, who's also had quite a successful carer as a painter (using his real name Anthony Benedetto), added that 'We're gonna do a jazz album with Marion Evans, a big swing band, and I'm looking forward to it because a lot of people don't know it, but she's a phenomenal jazz singer.''
No word yet on when we might expect the joint effort to hit shelves.
