Lady Gaga's Travel Outfit Causes Airport Debacle
Gaga spends 15 minutes in private body search.
Some celebrities attempt to blend in when they're traveling so that they don't have to sign autographs or pose with the hundreds of people they'll encounter on their route. Lady Gaga is different, however, as a black veil and wacky boots got her stopped at passport control this week.
You should've seen it. Heading from L.A. to New Zealand on tour Lady Gaga traipsed through airport security wearing boots that looked like they had a blonde horse's maine sewn down the back. Under her leotard she wore black fishnets and then wrapped a black lace veil all around her head with sunglasses. When security asked her to remove some of the items to go through the metal detector, Lady Gaga refused. Then they detained her.
Lady Gaga spent 15 minutes in a private room while airport security searched her down and are said to have questioned her about the nature of her costume and whether it could have been harboring any dangerous objects (I so want to tag a hermaphrodite joke on that one, but I won't). Then it's said when she was finally permitted to board the flight, cabin crew became concerned when Gaga's legs began to swell inside her boots. Apparently they thought it was a condition known as deep vein thrombosis (a blood clot). Oh Gaga...most people just want to travel sensibly.
.
Not this little 8-year-old Lady Gaga impersonator, though -- talk about a video is PERFECT Friday viewing. Then there's that costume of nothing but police tape that Gaga is wearing these days. What would immigration control say...?
