LeAnn Rimes Seeking Treament for Anxiety and Stress
LeAnn Rimes in Rehab for Emotional Issues
Just one day after her 30th birthday, LeAnn Rimes checked herself into treatment for anxiety and stress.
At least she got her birthday bash in first.
People.com is reporting that Rimes entered an "in-patient treatment facility," with the singer/actress being treated for "anxiety and stress."
I don't pretend to know anything about Rimes' mental state, but it's pretty easy to wonder just what she is anxious and stressed about when all she seems to do is go on vacation with husband Eddie Cibrian all the time.
Is it really "anxiety and stress," or is Rimes facing some bigger issues here? It's hard not to wonder, given her skeletal frame, that she isn't seeking help for anorexia.
Rimes' rep tells People.com, "LeAnn has voluntarily entered a 30 day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress. While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."
Her rep does confirm that she's not in treatment for substance abuse or an eating disorder.
Rimes explained to People, "This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be."
She adds,"All the things in my life will be there when I get out, but you know what? I'm hoping they're not going to affect me as much. I'll have the tools to know how to deal with them."
Is there trouble in the Rimes/Cibrian household?
Cibrian has her back, telling People.com, "My wife is the most remarkable and courageous woman I know. I am so proud of her for having the strength to finally take some time for herself. I will be with her every step of the way."
I hate to say it, but with LeAnn, everything is a PR stunt... hopefully this treatment is to help a real problem and not just another way to grab attention.
