Part 1 of 2?

Michael takes his act on the road, Kelly throws her first deserved fit in the office, Pam finds some peace, and Dwight and Jim become the perfect comedic tag team in this week's episode of The Office...

Episode: Lecture Circuit

Flush with the success of the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin, Michael and Pam were sent out into the world so that Michael could preach his "11 herbs and spices" for success to the other branches. Why is Pam with him? As his assistant, of course. Oh, and to mend fences with Karen, Jim's jilted lady-friend. Awkward! But it turns out that Karen was just fine - preggers out to there, but fine. Michael wooed the crowd with his amazing memorizing techniques (insulting, of course), but Karen was not happy with his mad skills. We learn that Karen moved on to a happy marriage (hence the bun in the oven), and Pam has closure. Which meant that Michael needed to take a trip to get closure with Holly.

Back at the office, Kelly was on a "screw you" tirade over the office forgetting her birthday. And why did they forget? Blame Jim and Dwight, the duel-headed party-planning committee. Who forgot. They ended up throwing the most intensely intense birthday party to make it up for her. Honestly, it looked like an office party as imagined by Werner Herzog and then styled by Dwight. Brown, under-inflated balloons, people!

Andy (aka The Nard Dog), in the meantime, was on the prowl for ladies - the lovely Julia to be specific. After performing an amazing rendition of a Feist song (about Splenda), some very suave talking, and some love advice from Creed Andy totally... bombs with Julia. It was quite sad, actually. It could have been worse, she could have maced him.

What then? Well, as each of the characters came to their crossroads, and we're reminded of something important: this is part 1 of 2 in this story arc so...

TO BE CONTINUED!!

My favorite bits:

- The PA function scene rules my world. And then it made me really glad our office didn't have that functionality.

- Andy's Feist song was amazing. I'd date a dude who sang me a custom Devotchka song.

- The chainsaw was a frightening, but not entirely out-of-place, office motivational tool.

- Creed's bits about dating Squeaky Frome and calling Andy "Jim" were priceless.

- Again, Creed's $3 bill was excellent. I need to study the ways of business from that guy.

Check out the whole episode here!

Kelly was at juvie? I can't wait to find out what it was for! My best guess: stalking, arson, and attempted murder. You know, kid stuff.
