Lee Majors and Shirley Jones To Star On 'Raising Hope'
Little Hope Has TV Legends For Grandparents.
A Six Million Dollar Man might not be worth as much nowdays, but that doesn't mean he can't give your TV show a major bionic boost. Veteran actor Lee Majors, along with Academy Award-winning actress Shirley Jones (Mrs. Partridge), will appear on Raising Hope in the show's upcoming second season.
TVLine reports that Jones and Majors, two of television's most iconic actors, will have recurring roles on the hit Fox comedy this year, playing the parents of Burt Chance (Garret Dillahunt).
That makes them grandparents to Jimmy Chance (Lucas Neff), who is stuck trying to raise a daughter after the baby's mother -- whom he met in a one-night stand -- is executed for being a serial murderer.
For Majors, 72, who is most famous for playing Colonel Steve Austin in the classic '70s TV show The Six Million Dollar Man and Colt Seavers on The Fall Guy in the '80s, this will be his first small screen appearance since guest starring last season opposite William Shatner on $#*! My Dad Says.
Jones, 77, who famously played single mom Shirley Partridge on the seminal '70s show The Partridge Family also starred in a number of musicals in the '50s and '60s and won an Oscar for her performance in Elmer Gantry (1960). Jones recently appeared briefly on the soap opera Days of Our Lives and guest-starred on A&E's The Cleaner.
Raising Hope premieres at 9:30 p.m. ET Tuesday (Sept. 20) on FOX.
