The endless creations you can make with Legos is mind-boggling sometimes -- we've all seen the epic sculptures online from those with Lego ambitions most can only dream of.

Here's something entirely different ...

What about scaling it down to its most common form?

These minimalist Lego sculptures do just that, taking the basic building blocks at their simplest to represent some of the most recognizable TV cartoon characters around.

German ad agency Jung von Matt took on the challenge to create these minimalist representations of the following characters: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, South Park, The Smurfs, Sesame Street's Bert & Ernie, Ducktales, Asterix and Obelix, and The Simpsons.

Anyone with kids has likely spent a fair amount of time with the Lego building blocks, so if you're ever short on ideas, look no further than this clever idea.

I'm partial to The Simpsons representation, if only for Marge's sky-high blue hair, but Bert and Ernie are pretty adorable too.
