Innocent and unsuspecting Leona Lewis was attacked in London on Wednesday.

Leona Lewis was signing autographs Wednesday when an unnamed aggressor approached her, unleashing a violent attack.

It's said Lewis was signing books in Waterstone's Piccaddilly Circus bookstore when a man in the line walked up and attacked her. Witnesses reported that he "slapped" and "punched" the singer in the head, and then was taken immediately by security guards and arrested.

While photos show a crying Lewis leaving the store in sunglasses, they show no indication of physical injury. It's said she sought professional medical care as a precaution.

Lewis' rep released a statement: "Leona was the victim of an unprovoked attack. The police were called immediately and medical attention has been sought. Leona is understandably shaken and apologizes to the fans she was unable to meet and complete signings."

The suspect is only being identified as a 29-year-old man.

We feel bad for Leona...however, we'll think happy thoughts. Another hot star in Britian remains smiling as her new album cover is finally released. You guessed it, it's Susan Boyle -- check out the gorgeous the I Dreamed A Dream jacket through this link.
