Lily Allen Breaks Up For Better Songs

Not Fair singer Lily Allen and 45-year-old art dealer Jay Jopling had a brief romance back in December. Allen says that the reason she broke up with him, and has ended several other relationships for that matter, was to find inspiration to write new songs.

Lily Allen told Radio Times magazine, "I've actually broken up with boyfriends for inspiration. When I hit a period of not being able to write music, I get up and walk away. It's pretty mean but it's true."

She is putting her career first. A smart thing to do in the music business because you never know how long you will be on top. Relationships aren't what she is interested right now. She said, "I'm in that mindset where I realize I'm going to be so busy for the next two years. Even if I was to meet someone, I don't have the time. But there's not really any specific kind of guy I go for - I'm still trying to work out what my type is."
