Bright and bold for charity!

Plus Cyndi Lauper, Too

A little celebrity-inspired lipstick goes a long way, but when charitable contributions are involved, how about we spring for two tubes instead of one? MAC's newest plan won't just be invigorating our makeup drawers, but it'll be giving back as well!

Both Lady GaGa and Cyndi Lauper will be faces of the MAC AIDS Fund, so we can expect some new lip product to drop from MAC in early spring 2010. While Cyndi Lauper's lipstick shade, called Viva Glam Cyndi, is probably something peppy and cute, I'm having a lot of trouble imagining the Viva Glam GaGa color--Miss Lady G. has been through quite a few looks this season...and in her career!

The fund has raised over $150 million to go to the MAC AIDS Fund since 1994, and that includes research, outreach, and educational initiatives. If you're going to buy one lipstick in 2010, why not make it one that donates 100% of the costs of the lippy itself to this special cause? I am game--it gives me the perfect excuse to decimate the MAC counter.

I have a feeling that MAC is going to be planning a wearer-friendly color for GaGa--they definitely want something that will sell, and better than something else she might put on.

Do you like to buy makeup to support charities?
