Macaulay Culkin is addicted to heroin and the prescription drug Oxycontin, claims the National Enquirer, but is there any truth to the rumor?

Several eyewitnesses squealed that they've seen him in the act of taking both drugs.

Following his career as a child star, Culkin faded a bit from the limelight, though he was spotted earlier this year looking haggard and dangerously thin in photos.

The Enquirer (via RadarOnline) reports Culkin's legal team has denied rumors that the actor had a close call with overdosing and said that he doesn't spend $6,000 a month on the painkillers that were also Rush Limbaugh's near demise, as he's rumored to.

A source tells the Enquirer: "Macaulay Culkin is hooked on drugs and it's killing him! He's been hooked for a year and a half, and his drug of choice is either heroin or oxycodone. Mac is surrounding himself with junkies and lowlifes. It's a real tragedy."

Another friend said Culkin is "surely dying," adding, "He's addicted to heroin, oxycodone, Percocet and Vicodin. I have witnessed his drug taking, which has escalated over the past year and a half to the point where he needs serious help."

His drug use is in dangerous territory, with friends fearful that he'll overdose. The friend adds, "Mac is still partying hard. I pray that he finds the courage and strength to clean up before it's too late." Star watchers will recall that Mac famously dated Mila Kunis for nearly 8 years before calling it quits shortly before Black Swan premiered in 2010. "The split was amicable, and they remain close friends," Kunis's representative told the New York Post at the time.

Don't be another former child star tragedy, Mac. Here's hoping he gets help, if the rumors are true.
