Madonna Getting Set to Launch Clothing Line?

Madonna is one of those celebrities who is never far from the headlines. Whether it's about her latest boy-toy, her latest guest spot, or her latest modeling gig, Madonna is always up to something. And now we're getting word that Madonna is coming out with her own clothing line.

Would you buy clothing from Madonna? Word from WWD is that she's getting set to launch a contemporary women's line to be sold exclusively at Macy's. And since you know Madonna doesn't do things half-way, the line is going to include apparel, accessories, intimates, and footwear. Just about everything!

Madonna's publicist didn't return calls to confirm or deny the rumors and a Macy's spokesperson declined comment. But it sounds pretty sure that this is actually going to happen. And the names being considered are quite fitting as well. We're hearing the Madonna wants to call her apparel line "Material Girl" and the line of intimates "Truth or Dare."

It seems that most of us do trust Madonna when it comes to fashion and style. She created and co-branded a women's collection with H&M in 2007 (remember?) and the head of H&M design at the time said, "Madonna has an impressive feel for fashion and trends. She was extraordinarily style conscious, passionate and was involved in even the smallest details of every design."

So, while successful celebrity clothing lines aren't generally successful, I have a feeling Madonna could actually pull this off.
