Make Your Wax Hurt Less
Follow These Steps for a Less Painful Waxing
I hate bikini waxes! Not only can they test my comfort zone, but they are pretty painful. If you, like me, are looking for ways to tone done the "ouch," here are some methods that the experts suggest.
1. Take a painkiller before your appointment--about an hour before should do. Over-the-counter will do just fine.
2. Start off slowly. I don't recommended that your first bikini wax be the full deal, because not only will it be an incredible shock, but you might not even like the visual effect of a Brazilian. Aim for basic, and work your way up.
3. Exfoliate carefully before you have your appointment. Removing dead skin means that you'll have an easier time getting finer or shorter hairs pulled out of your special spots later.
4. Use a pain-relief gel. There are plenty of after-waxing creams to use, and you can pick some up at the spa right after your appointment to make sure you have some on hand. Traditional antibiotic gels with pain killing additions are also good picks.
5. Get in a rhythm. I like it when I'm not expecting the wax to be pulled off, because I don't tense and jump, but others like to know when it's coming.
