Making Thigh High Boots Look Classy, Sophisticated

I have to admit I once had a total fear of thigh high boots. As a matter of fact, up until this winter, I wouldn't wear them. I thought thigh high boots were way too racy and scandalous to wear outside of the house. But now I've discovered they're not only totally fun, but they can be super classy, too.

Like any other fashion piece, thigh high boots can be either horribly trashy or totally sophisticated. You just have to know how to wear them. I eased myself into thigh high boots by checking out some low-heel suede ones. And now I'm absolutely in love with them.

These days, I can totally rock a pair of leather thigh high boots, but they absolutely cannot be that shiny, fake leather. And I mostly have a thing for a soft pair of suede thigh high boots in grey, like the ones above.

What's so great about these over-the-knee thigh high boots? Well, they can totally make your outfit. Even if you're wearing a plain old white shirt and pair of jeans, thigh high boots will pull the outfit together and make it look like you actually tried when you were getting dressed in the morning. And though you might have previously thought thigh high boots were trashy, with an outfit like this, you'll look like the girl next door. But better.

Plus, you can wear thigh high boots with a dress or skirt and your legs won't feel quite so naked. I don't, however, recommend wearing them with fishnet stalkings... unless that's the look you're going for. A thigh high boot with a stiletto heel will give you more of a "going out on the town" look and I generally prefer to keep a shorter heel.
