Mama Mia: Ben & Jerry's Latest Ice Cream Flavor Is Cannoli
But It's a Limited Edition Flavor, So Don't Get Too Hooked on It
Festivus, Cool Britannia, Wavy Gravy, The Full VerMonty, Schweddy Balls and Holy Cannoli … all great Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavors that bit the dust.
But the company is bringing back one of those frozen treats, or at least a new version of it, via the new Ben & Jerry's flavor simply called Cannoli.

Available in supermarkets in a limited edition batch, Cannoli ice cream is mascarpone-flavored ice cream with fudge-covered cannoli pastry shell chunks and a mascarpone swirl. The old Holy Cannoli flavor featured pistachio ice cream with ricotta, which, according to Ben & Jerry's announcement on Facebook, caused Holy Cannoli to "bomb."
"This is a new take on it and we think it tastes better than Holy Cannoli did," according to the announcement. "We hope you do too!"
Ben & Jerry's Cannoli flavor is available in stores now -- though not in the company's scoop shops -- and will be available until the beginning of next year.

And, according to an early review of the new ice cream at The Huffington Post, it's "delicious, but definitely a sugar bomb," "doesn't really taste like cannoli, but does taste like cake batter" and "tastes like canned vanilla cake frosting (and) even leaves that same gritty coating" on the tongue.
PS -- If there's a retired Ben & Jerry's flavor you'd like to see back in your grocer's frozen food section, visit the Ben & Jerry's website, where you can request your MIA ice cream. We, for instance, think the Seinfeld-celebrating Festivus should make a comeback every December, don't you?
