Marchesa Debuts New Playboy Bunny Costume
Marchesa does Playboy
When you think of Marchesa, you probably think classy, sophisticated, and glamorous. You probably don't think of Playboy bunnies. But when Playboy asked Marchesa to create a one-of-a-kind bunny outfit, they obliged. Have you seen it yet?
I have to imagine it took a different way of thinking for Marchesa duo Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman to design a new Playboy bunny outfit. But they were actually quite successful and came up with a gorgeous black lace embellished corset with beaded detailing.
Champman told The Telegraph, "We thought it was nice to keep it all black... We kind of wanted keep the Marchesa aesthetic but stay true to Playboy; so you've got the lace and the corsetry... it was a lot of fun." I'm sure it was a nice departure from the typical runway fashions and red carpet wear the Marchesa ladies usually work on.
In case you're wondering why Marchesa would agree to do such a thing, the one-off Bunny costume is set to be auctioned this October to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. But the ladies aren't anti-Playboy either. They say, "What is wrong with celebrating women? I think it celebrates the female form. The women in here are pretty empowered."
I have a feeling the Playboy Bunnies are going to be fighting for designer bunny costumes from now on. Bunnies have never looked so glamorous. Head over to The Telegraph website to see photos of models wearing the Marchesa Playboy Bunny costumes.
