Mark Ronson to perform with Duran Duran
Music producer Mark Ronson will reportedly be joining Duran Duran on-stage later this month, at Edinburgh Castle. The 31-year-old brother of Lindsay Lohan’s on-off girlfriend, Samantha Ronson, will play alongside the band at the gig on 16 July, and it is rumoured they will perform tracks off their new album, which Ronson helped produce.
An insider said, "Scots fan are really going to be in for a treat. I think there's a strong possibility there will be new stuff from the album." This is not the first time the music-makers have teamed up on stage – the band played a gig with Ronson in Paris last year. Ronson admitted he has always been a fan of the 1980s super-group. "I had [their] posters, stickers and I tried to copy their haircuts. I went with my mum to the hairdresser’s when I was 11, with a picture of John Taylor,” he said. "I thought they were going to give me this feather cut with blond highlights. But the haircut they gave me was closer to what they'd have given a 10-year-old. "I walked out the hairdresser’s in tears, saying: 'It's way more Nick Rhodes than John Taylor.'"
