Martha Stewart's Dog Causes Nine Stitches
Martha's French bulldog attacks Stewart in the face.
When we think of Martha Stewart, we think of beauty and everything in its place...but this week Martha's suffering what she calls her "first disfiguring mark" after her French bulldog attacked her. Here's the story.
Martha Stewart was at her home in Westchester County, New York on Tuesday evening preparing to head to New York City to tape "The Martha Stewart Show." Martha describes why she approached her sweet little French bulldog as she was packing -- she "leaned down to whisper goodbye to a dozing Francesca."

Unfortunately Francesca was not happy to be awoken. Martha says, "I must have startled her ecause she bolted upright with such force that she hit me in the face like a boxing glove hitting an opponent's face ... I was entirely startled and my neck snapped back. I felt a bit of whiplash as blood gushed forth from my split lip. Frannie was as upset as I was and cowered in her bed."
Martha Stewart was then rushed to a nearby emergency room, where she got nine stitches in her lip. Stewart has posted nearly three dozen photos illustrating the incident on her website, but it looks like everyone's searching for them -- at press time, service on Martha's blog was down!

Stewart says she was in "terrible agony" after her "first disfiguring mark on my face. Ay ei ei!" But she swears she's not using this as an excuse to go further under the knife -- do you believe her? "I'll be alright facially," Martha Stewart said. "I'm not rushing to get a facelift any time soon!"

We love our dogs, but especially when they're old, it's tough to tell what kind of mood they're in. This may be the most surprising household lesson we've ever gotten from Martha Stewart! Want more Martha? Flip through our slideshow to see her in better form, and hit the blue links.
