Who Has That Kind of Money to Blow on a Bag?
When we first reported on Mary Kate and Ashley's new handbag line back in July, we were dumbfounded to learn that they had an aligator backpack available for $39,000. We thought that no one would buy such a thing -- especially in this economy. Guess what? We were wrong. Very wrong.
Talking to reporters at Paris Fashion Week, the twins said that The Row's $39,000 aligator backpack has become the line's best-seller!
"It was the first thing that sold off the shelf," Ashley told WWD.
Is it just us or is this just mind-boggling? Would you EVER spend that much on a bag -- even if you had money to burn?

I just don't understand why people would purchase products made from animal skins. I know people that do spend big money on products that are made from animal skins, and I always tell them just because we are on top of the food chain doesn't give us the right to do these things to animals. What if the roles were switched and they were on the top of the food chain and they had the ability to make products out of our skins, would you want them to make products out of your hide???? Think about it. These animals are being killed for the sake of fashion, and in my opinion for NO REASON AT ALL!!!
