Mary Richardson Kennedy Arrested For DWI
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s wife arrested outside New York City.
Fifty-year-old Mary Richardson Kennedy was arrested for DWI, authorities reported Tuesday, after she drove up over a curb outside a Westchester County school.
Accounts suggest that Mary Richardson Kennedy was arrested Tuesday afternoon after driving up over a curb outside a church and school in Bedford, 45 miles outside of New York City. Richardson Kennedy told police she was going to pick up "some people" at a school carnival, and when the cops smelled alcohol on her, they discovered a blood alcohol content of 0.11 -- the legal limit is 0.08.
It's said cops recognized Mary Richardson Kennedy behind the wheel because they've visited her home twice in the last week (May 10 and May 13) to investigate reports of domestic violence. Also, authorities refused to give details about whether Richardson Kennedy was alone in her vehicle when she was arrested.
Mary Richardson Kennedy is the wife of Robert F Kennedy Jr. and the daughter-in-law to late Bobby Kennedy, the New York senator who was assassinated in 1968, five years after his brother John F. Kennedy was killed. Mary Richardson Kennedy's husband is an environmental lawyer who works in White Plains, New York. He did not return reporters' calls for comment, says Huffington Post (who have more on the domestic violence that was reported in the Kennedy home last week).
