Affordable and young

He's one of the designers I most swoon after. But with most dresses costing in the range of $650-$2,000, swoon is all I can afford to do. So, I'm pretty ecstatic to hear that Matthew Williamson is designing a line at Macy's. Now, this is a clothing line for which I'll definitely be finding some room in my budget.

It's set to be a 30-piece capsule collection with a 70s hippy flare. One that we can afford. And one that we can buy at Macy's. Thank you Matthew Williamson for answering my prayers.

While I'm the first to say 70s hippy isn't my style, from the preliminary images I've seen of Williamson's new collection, his line is right up my alley. It's going to consist of daywear, eveningwear, dresses, scarves, jackets, and more! And it will start at $50, with prices going no higher than $300. But knowing Macy's, many of the items in Matthew Williamson's collection will go on sale.

Williamson says of his Macy's collection, "The collection aims to capture the essence of the mainline brand, with a focus on effortless glamour; dynamic prints; loosely structured silhouettes, and pops of strong colour." What's not to love about that?

Macy's is obviously excited to welcome Williamson to their store and according to WWD.com, they say, "He is tremendous at pops of strong color and he does dynamic prints reminiscent of the Seventies and the disco era."

The Matthew Williamson collection for Macy's is set to launch on April 13 and will be available in most Macy's stores and online. I can't even tell you how excited I am to get my Matthew Williamson fix. And to stock my closet up with Williamson dresses!
