Megan Fox Gets Evil in 'Jennifer's Body'
It's a bloody "Body."
Megan Fox's new movie, Jennifer's Body, is a bloody, gore-filled romp complete with an up-and-coming director (Juno's Diablo Cody) and one of the hottest stars in the world. But though it may sound like fun, film critics have a few things to say about it.
In the new movie, Fox appears as the demonic Jennifer, a popular high school cheerleader who is sacrificed by a rock band looking to make it famous. Instead, she gets posessed by a demon and goes on a man-seducing, man-hunting rampage.
Some critics found the film to be genuinely enjoyable. Rene Rodriguez of the Miami Herald likened to Stephen King's horror classic Carrie, and Roger Ebert said the film is not your average "assembly-line teen horror thriller."
But of course, most critics so far are iffy about the new horror/comedy from Juno director Diablo Cody. Christy Lemire of the Associated Press says the film is "never scary" and "only sporadically amusing," and Nick Pinkerton from the Village Voice says it "seems designed more to be quoted than watched."
Honestly though, as the title itself says, most people aren't going to see the movie for her brains. They just want to see Jennifer's Body.
