Men, Women: Both Looking for Funny, Sexy Mates

Are men and women really that similar?

It's clear that men and women don't always see eye-to-eye, and that's the same in relationships. While you might be looking for someone who is loaded and sexy, perhaps you're in the minority. Perhaps, we said-- here are the results of our mobile poll asking "What do you look for in a boyfriend/girlfriend?"

First, we broke our results into sections according to male and female responses, and ranked them according to what was most important.

For men, the highest rated must-have traits included:

* 30% good sense of humor
* 22% attractive physical appearance
* 10% fun to be around
* 9% excellent lover
* 9% intelligent
* 8% kind

Guys are most likely looking for a woman who is funny, attractive, and fun to be around, and so are women. When we polled females about their perfect mate, they responded:

* 31% good sense of humor
* 16% attractive physical appearance
* 14% fun to be around
* 11% kind
* 8% excellent lover
* 7% financial resources

Although the top three results-- humor, sexiness, and fun-- are indeed the same, check out the percentages. Women seem to value attractiveness and fun almost equally. Men? Seems like sexy is a whole lot more important!

Then, things start to change between what men and women value in a potential partner. In the 4th place on the list, guys said that they wanted an "excellent lover," while women chose friendliness instead. Women also bumped up another item on the list that guys didn't find as important-- financial resources (7%). 3% of men chose that option.
